Stewardship
Task management experience that turns complex data stewardship workflows into clear, actionable steps.
ROLE
This project was created as part of my work at Inkod Hypera (Project-based company).
01 / ABOUT BIGID
BigID develops a platform that helps organizations discover, classify, manage, and protect their data across different systems. Its solutions enable businesses to identify sensitive information, reduce security and privacy risks, manage data access, and meet regulatory requirements. BigID also helps organizations govern and protect data used by AI systems, enabling safer and more responsible use of data.
02 / STEWARDSHIP APP
The BigID Data Stewardship App is an AI-powered automation platform that replaces manual data management workflows with machine learning to catalog, classify, and govern enterprise data at scale. Operating within the BigID Data Governance Suite, it automatically maps data to business glossaries, generates descriptions, tracks data quality, and identifies sensitive information across both structured and unstructured environments. By shifting the traditional data steward’s role from manual execution to validating AI-driven recommendations, the product accelerates metadata enrichment, ensures data readiness for LLM pipelines, and streamlines compliance workflows across multi-cloud infrastructure.
Data stewardship involves several types of work, including defining terms, identifying duplicates, reviewing data quality, and approving changes. These tasks often sit at different stages and require coordination across teams. Without a clear view of task status and next steps, stewards may struggle to prioritize work, track approvals, and maintain consistent data definitions.
I designed a Data Stewardship Task Manager that brings this work together in one board, organized by workflow stage: Draft, Under Review, Sent for Approval, Approved, and Rejected. Each card provides the context behind a task, the reason it needs attention, and a recommended action, with options to approve or reject directly from the board. Personal and shared task views, along with filtering, sorting, and grouping, help stewards see what needs attention and track progress.
